Miss Marissa
Marissa has been training in dance since she was 3 years old. She started her training at Dance with Marie in Forked River NJ and then went to New York City Performing Arts Centre in Toms River NJ under the direction of Christopher Recchia. Marissa has over 10+ years of teaching experience in various genres. She graduated from Georgian Court University in 2015 with her B.A. in Dance and a minor in Business Administration. Marissa has danced with Silvana Cardell, founder of the Cardell Dance Theatre based out of PA and Brian Sanders, founder of JUNK Company also based out of PA. She has performed at Spotlight Performances at Georgian Court University, Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, ACDFA’s Gala Performance in Brockport, NY, Off Centre Dance Theatre’s Spring Invitational in Westchester, NY and the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. Marissa has also taken workshops and classes with various and well-known choreographers all over the world. She was an adjudicator for the Road to Broadway Competition based out of East Greenville, PA. Marissa’s choreography has received many awards at various competitions in NJ and PA. She had the opportunity of being an intern for Marked Dance Project, a professional modern integrated dance company and was their administrative manager and rehearsal director for their 5th season. She has taught at numerous dance studios all over New Jersey as well as in Pennsylvania. When Marissa isn’t teaching she enjoys spending time with her family.
She is super excited to start this year with the students of Rising Stars and to continue to inspire her students to achieve their goals and share her creativity with them.
