Miss Derin

Derin started dance lessons at the age of 3. She has studied dance for over 17 years in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical and Tap. She danced competitively for 10 years and during that time she had won several high and specialty awards. Over her dance career she has attended numerous dance conventions with a focus on Tap. Derin has also competed, taught drill, and attended workshops with multiple Color Guard teams, and Drum Corps across the North East. In addition to teaching with Rising Stars, she has been a Senior Hair Stylist for over 20 years.  Derin brings a genuine love and passion for dance to all her classes and believes it is important to challenge students while still creating a welcoming space where they can feel safe and have fun!
