Miss Rachel S.

Rachel Schemenaur holds a Masters in Dance Education from New York University, a k-12 dance teacher certification in New Jersey, and is currently a full time dance teacher at an elementary school in Camden. Miss Rachel is passionate about providing a well rounded dance education to her students by exposing them to a wide variety of dance techniques not only from the United States but from around the world while building each individual students’ own creativity and expression. 

Miss Rachel began her dance training in Texas at a local dance studio. She trained and competed in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and contemporary. After high-school, Rachel attended Oral Roberts University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Dance Performance. While in undergrad, Rachel’s choreography was selected to represent her school at the American College Dance Festival Association’s adjudicated performance. She also attended and trained at several summer dance intensives including the American Dance Festival, Mark Morris Dance Center, and Bill Evans Summer Intensive. Upon graduating, she moved to New York City where she continued dancing and fell in love with a variety of world dance styles including salsa and bachata. Miss Rachel also spent several years teaching in Brooklyn at Mark Morris Dance Center and Notes in Motion before returning to school to earn her Masters in Dance Education at NYU. Miss Rachel is very excited to be joining Rising Stars and to continue sharing her love for dance.
