Miss Lindsay

Miss LindsayLindsay Sokol began dancing at the age of two and a half years old at Horizons Dance Center in Brooklyn, NY. Through out her childhood she studied both dance and gymnastics, and began studying at Rising Stars when she moved to New Jersey in 2001. She studied extensively under Joelle Iuliano, and began assisting her when she was sixteen years old, which led her to discover her passion for teaching and choreographing. Lindsay’s choreography for solo, duet, trio, and group routines have received top accolades, titles, and overall awards at regional and national competitions. She prides herself on the success of her students, many of whom have been accepted to their high school and college dance teams as well as prestigious performing arts programs.

Miss Lindsay graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Education, with extensive course work in Child and Adolescent Development. While a student at Rutgers, Miss Lindsay danced with the Rutgers Performing Dance Company and studied Modern Dance at Mason Gross School of the Arts. Lindsay is certified by Dance Educators of America (DEA) in Levels One and Two in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Modern, and Pointe under the direction of Charles Kelley and Raymond Lukens. In 2010, Miss Lindsay also became Zumba Certified in Basic One under the direction of Beto Perez and Tanya Beardsley. She has been featured in Dance Spirit Magazine and was chosen to be a Capezio Summer Intern in 2012. Most recently, Lindsay became certified in Acrobatic Arts Module One in Summer 2017.

Miss Lindsay is proud to be one of Miss Joelle and Miss Jody’s former students and able to pass on the technique and life lessons that they taught to her onto her own students. She believes the most important part of her job is to give her students a strong foundation that will enable them to progress to the best of their abilities while instilling in them a love of dance that they will carry with them for a lifetime.
