Miss Jennifer Schaefer

Creative Dance 2½ to 5 years old - Hippity Hop & Zumba Dance Instructor

SchaeferDance has been a part of Jennifer Schaefer's life since she was three years old, and she is thrilled to be back teaching at one of the very schools where she first began. As a student, Jen studied jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop and lyrical dance and began competing in regional and national competitions at age ten. Jen met Rising Stars Director Jody Myslinski when they had competition jazz and competition tap class together. Throughout her years of competition, Jen won numerous individual and group medals and performed at such venues as the Al Alberts Television Show, The Jerry Lewis Telethon, and the Garden State Arts Center. After High School, Jen studied and performed at Brookdale Community College and other local studios before going on to study at Rutgers' Mason Gross School of Arts. It was there that Jen earned her B.F.A. in Modern Dance which included studies in modern, ballet, choreography, improvisation, production and lighting, and Labanotation. While earning her degree, she enjoyed performing as well as choreographing and producing student concerts, and as a member of University Dance Works (Mason Gross' Dance Company), she performed for inner city schools and other colleges and universities. After college, Jen continued to study at local schools and at the Broadway Dance Center. Today, Jennifer is married and has two sons and has become very involved in various types of fitness activities. Jenn has received her certification in both Zumba and Pilates and has been teaching adult classes regularly. While she thoroughly enjoys these activities, Jen is overjoyed to be a part of dance once again and looks forward to sharing her passion and excitement with her students.
